Why School Choice Counts — How You Can Get Involved

Dear Families,

As you may know, the federal election has been called for May 3 — and this election matters deeply to families like ours.

That’s why we wanted to make you aware of a national campaign called School Choice Counts, led by Independent Schools Australia (‘ISA’), with the support of every
State and Territory’s Association of Independent Schools.

The campaign is about one simple thing: Ensuring that every family’s right to choose the education that’s best for their child is respected and protected.

Right now, that choice is under pressure.  There are voices calling for cuts to government support for Independent schools, and for policies that could make school fees less affordable for families already making big sacrifices.

This campaign gives us, as parents, a chance to be heard.

We’re encouraging all families in our community to take a moment to:

  • Visit the campaign websiteschoolchoicecounts.isa.edu.au
  • Read the campaign toolkit attached, and download some of the material
  • Get involved by sharing your story or using the campaign’s ready-to-send messages.

We are grateful to ISA and the State/Territory Associations of Independent Schools for leading this important national effort – and now it’s our turn to lend our voices.

This election, school choice is on the ballot.  Let’s stand together to protect it.
