What our families say

Raffy Sgroi - President of APFACTS
Mark
Lisa

As the President of APFACTS, the association representing parents and carers of independent schools in Canberra, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the invaluable role of the APC. Their commitment to fostering collaboration between parents and schools is vital in ensuring that parents’ voices are heard and respected. The APC is a crucial bridge, facilitating communication and understanding between families and educational institutions. Through their efforts, we have witnessed a significant increase in engagement, allowing us to connect more deeply with our schools.

As a parent, I’m deeply grateful to APC for their tireless work in advocating for our children’s wellbeing. Their powerful submission no doubt contributed to the government’s decision to ban social media for under-16s—a major step in protecting kids’ (including mine) mental health and online safety. Thanks to APC, parents like myself can feel more secure knowing our children are better protected from the potential harms of early social media exposure, whilst raising awareness about the critical issue of children’s safety online.

We had an unfortunate change in school leadership and the culture no longer reflected what we valued about the school. I’m glad I reached out to Jenny as she was very supportive and understood the complex position it placed us in as a family.
